Introducing Mindsight Surrey CAMHS
On 1st April 2016 Learning Space, together with a number of other statutory and voluntary sector providers, began a new working partnership with Surrey and Borders NHS Foundation Trust to deliver an innovative and transformed model of CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) in Surrey, named Mindsight Surrey CAMHS.
The integrated model puts children and young people at the heart of the service with a focus on getting them to the right support first time. All the CAMHS partners are ambitious about supporting Surrey families to live well and achieve an excellent quality of life.
Two of the most significant developments include a new single point of access, called CAMHS One Stop which receives and manages all referrals. There is also emphasis on prevention and early intervention in order to build well-being and resilience in children and young people.
As part of this new service Learning Space provides 1:1 support for children and young people aged 5 – 18 years who are experiencing anxiety, isolation, bullying, difficulties with anger or who may have suffered a bereavement. Sessions take place at our base in Dorking or in schools and run for up to eight weeks.
